If you tried to start with literally nothing and make the shirt as shown above, you’d need to fill in all the little bits of skin with the proper value for skin tone, which is a special value that the sim itself owns. the nude skin acts as a base that you can “paint” the texture onto and any parts you don’t paint are just the pre-existing nude skin tone. In the second, it’s actually a safeguard to prevent you from having holes in the texture and to make skin tones match. In the first scenario, because the “nude” clothing is perfectly transparent you just don’t have to delete anything like you’d have to delete the texture of a shirt to make a new shirt.
In either case, texture editing is better with a nude base.īasically you just add the new texture as a layer and don’t delete the old one. There are two paradigms: either nude vase is a clothing with a transparent texture over the mesh, or it’s really more the top part of the character like it’s a doll that you can pull the torso off and switch out. Idk about sims 4, but I do know something about game design.
